Welcome

We welcome you to our assemblies and want you to feel comfortable. Admittedly, you’ll not witness anything fancy or sophisticated. Our purpose is quite simple - to worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24) and to teach the Bible. Our worship services are like those you can read of in the New Testament: we sing (Ephesians 5:19) and pray (Acts 4:24), we memorialize the Lord’s death as He commanded (Matthew 26:26-29) and give as we have prospered (1 Corinthians 16:1-2). We also teach and preach the Bible, the inspired word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

If the simple, obvious truth of the scriptures and freedom from denominationalism appeal to you, we hope you will investigate further our plea by studying the Bible together with us. Our plea stands or falls by the claim that we can supply “book, chapter and verse” for all that we teach and practice. May God help us all as we search for the truth in the pages of His word.

Our Mission

The Combs Street Church of Christ ---- our mission is to “Go into the entire world and preach the gospel to every creature” as Jesus commanded (Mark 16:15-16). Those of us associated with the work at the Combs Street Church of Christ strive to fulfill this directive by teaching and preaching the gospel as widely as possible through every legitimate means at our disposal.

As New Testament Christians, we are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, because we realize that it is “...the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). Simply put, our mission is to fulfill the commandments Jesus left with us just before He ascended into heaven (Matthew 28:18-20).
